Bill is a sportswriter from Boston who keeps me up to date on all the happenings in the sports world. Jesse is a financial writer who always has a good contrarian perspective. What is the last book you read, for personal and for business? The last book I read cover-to-cover was ‘Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap….and Others Don’t’ by James Collins. Centering on the central hypothesis ‘Why do some companies preform significantly better than their peers?’, the book takes an in-depth dive into several firms that meet a statistical criterion to answer that question. I found it interesting hearing firsthand accounts about different managerial styles across industries and the similarities and differences that drove firms to achieve great success and how I can apply some of the insights in my own life. I highly recommend it!Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?The financial services industry is a great fit for me as an individual because it allows me to help others and learn about the finical markets. When I took a business elective in school, we covered the stock market I knew then that working in this field was my end goal for a career. I enjoy learning about the investment world, working in this field allows me to do what I enjoy and help others. My favorite after work activity is…Playing basketball!
