Awards
The 2021 ranking of Forbes’ Best-In-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors¹ recognizes advisors born in 1982 or later with a minimum of four years of experience. Advisors were rated based on a proprietary algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria: assets under management, revenues generated for their firm, client retention, industry experience, credentials, and compliance records. SHOOK Research also employs an opinion-based weighting system that prioritizes its preferred “best practices,” which include business models, activities, processes, and structure. Overall, 3,389 advisors were considered, and 500 (15 percent of candidates) were recognized. The full methodology2 that Forbes developed in partnership with SHOOK Research is available at www.forbes.com.
What do you think C.I.G. Private Wealth Management can best help clients with?
It’s important for people to first understand that at C.I.G. Private Wealth Management, we offer a full suite of financial services, beyond investments and retirement planning. Our goal is to help our clients understand all the various the complexities of every aspect of their financial life and be a trusted and informed guide to help them navigate that.
I recognize that it takes time and trust to build a relationship where clients know – unequivocally – that we have their back. And I really want them to know that they can reach out to me as their advisor to really take off the pressure of figuring out what to do on their own. This level of trust is earned. It’s all about building relationships, building a deep level of trust and truly adding value for clients.
Do you have a personal or professional motto?
My motto and mission is: ‘Treat everyone as you would treat a member of your family.’ It’s my golden rule and number one guiding principal.
What do you like to read about, and can you recommend a book for us?
Growing up, I wasn’t an avid reader, but now as an adult I love to read. For work I am most interested in behavioral psychology and behavioral finance. I also love historical non-fiction, especially about the Revolutionary War, and inspiring or motivational books. One I can recommend is SAPIENS – A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari.
What is your favorite outside-of-work activity?
Grilling! I love to come home after work, relax a bit and then grill something on my deck for my family for dinner. Then I love to take some quiet time to recharge and read a bit in the evening, maybe while enjoying a Blanton’s Bourbon.
